The League of Champions is an elite club-to-club experience for those clubs who seek the highest levels of player, coach, team, and club development. The League of Champions is for U11-U19 Boys and Girls and is a club-to-club competition for the first teams.
The League of Champions is open to clubs in Northern Virginia, Central Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, and West Virginia. However, the Club Champions' full-time staff will determine if a club meets the requirements to compete successfully in the club-to-club model.
Each club and its participating teams will receive 4-6 matches per season depending on the number of participating clubs and competition calender (avoiding key tournaments, college showcase, state cup, school breaks, vacations, and more). The league participation fee is $200.00 per team per season, and $400.00 for the seasonal year. Fees do not include referees in the League of Champions. The deadline to register is June 23.
Unique to the League of Champions is that the age group winners, U13-U19 Boys and Girls, of the Fall season will qualify for the USYS League Championship Playoff (click here to learn more). The USYS League Championship Playoff is another qualifying pathway to the USYS Regional Championships. Note: any team that wins the League of Champions must also participate in their state's respective State Cup to be eligible for the USYS League Championship Playoff. There is an additional per-team fee for each team that qualifies for the USYS League Championship Playoff.
The League of Champions is an elite club-to-club soccer experience. Club-to-club allows a club’s technical director to oversee all players, coaches, and teams at one location on the same day. Centralized scheduling allows games to be played on the same day at one site. Coaches with two teams have games deconflicted, and families with multiple children travel to only one location. Club Champions are crowned at the end of the Fall and Spring seasons. Teams compete for an age group championship while also accumulating club points for their club. Club points are associated with the team’s standing in their age group division. Overall Club, Boys, and Girls Champions are crowned each season.
All League of Champions Club-to-Club Matchdays will take place on Sundays. Note: teams participating in the League of Champions may participate in other leagues such as the USYS National League South Atlantic Conference managed by EDP as that league allows for self-scheduled matches so that clubs/teams can work around the Club-to-Club Matchdays.
All League of Champions clubs and teams are presented with guaranteed entrance into all Club Champions events, including the Commonwealth Clash, Adidas College Showcase, and The Adidas National Cup (event fees do apply, and teams that participate in any of the Club Champions leagues will receive a discount). League of Champions, U15-U19 Boys and Girls, are guaranteed entry into the USYS National League Regional Showcase held in Richmond, Virginia (click here for more information).
